Jeremy Thurlow, 'I See a Ring'

Composer Jeremy Thurlow has composed a beautiful piece of music for piano and voices entitled 'I See a Ring', inspired by the first episode of Virginia Woolf's great novel The Waves (1931).

We were privileged and delighted to hear a recording of the music, performed by the Cambridge-based vocal group King Henry’s VIII, during Emma Sutton’s session on Music in The Waves, 21 March 2021. Both Emma’s lecture and the music, introduced by Jeremy, will be repeated on Sunday 30 May 2021. Bookings now open.

Jeremy writes about ‘I See a Ring’ on his website.

Jeremy has also written a song and a string quartet inspired by Woolf’s works, both commissioned by the Woolf and Music project of which Emma Sutton is founding director.
